Welcome
Black Saturday

At 12:00PM on Sunday the 7th of February, the Narre Warren Fire Brigade gathered to remember the devastation that took place one year earlier, on a day that will be remembered forever. A day that will always be known as ‘Black Saturday’.

173 people lost their lives on that day, thousands of people were left homeless, and half a million hectares of Victoria was burnt.

The days activities began with members of the Brigade forming in Parade Ranks. Captain Beards addressed the Brigade, before the Brigade paused for a minutes silence. The Fire Station Siren then sounded, as it did at fire stations all across Victoria.

The Brigade was then dismissed, upon which a BBQ was enjoyed by Brigade members and their families. This time also gave members a time to pause and reflect with colleagues about the devastating events that took place 12 months ago. Parade for Black Saturday Rememberance
